**Pilanı, October 11:** The town of Pilanı is gearing up for a grand celebration of Vijayadashmi on Saturday, October 12th. The highlight of the festivities will be the Ravana Dahan (burning of Ravana effigy), scheduled for 8:00 PM at the Utsav Maidan.

The event will see a dramatic enactment of the Ramayana, culminating in the symbolic burning of Ravana by Lord Rama. This will be followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Harshavardhan Singh Shekhawat, Vice President of the Pilanı Jagruti Manch, informed that a 51-foot tall Ravana effigy has been prepared for the occasion. Before the Dahan, a live performance of the Rama-Ravana battle will be held at the Ramlila Maidan, culminating in Ravana’s defeat. Lord Rama, accompanied by Lakshman, Hanuman, and the Vanar Sena (monkey army) will then proceed to the Utsav Maidan for the Ravana Dahan. After the effigy is burned, a traditional aarti of Lord Rama will be conducted.

According to Govind Pandey, the priest of Shri Gopinath Temple in Pilanı, the auspicious time for the Ravana Dahan is between sunset on October 12th and 10:33 PM. The most auspicious time for the Dahan is between 5:53 PM and 7:27 PM on October 12th. The Dahan will be performed under the Shravan Nakshatra, which begins at 5:25 AM on October 12th and lasts until 4:27 AM on October 13th.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of the large crowds expected, volunteers from the Pilanı Jagruti Manch will be deployed at the event. Traffic police will also be present to maintain order. Visitors are advised to park their vehicles near the Utsav Maidan.
