**Lucknow, October 10, 2024:** The Uttar Pradesh government has declared a public holiday on October 11th, the last day of Navratri, known as ‘Navami’. The decision was made following requests from various organizations and in recognition of the importance of the festival, which concludes with “kanya bhoj,” puja, and havan.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed that the holiday will apply to all government offices and departments except for essential services. This means that public sector employees will have a three-day weekend, including Saturday and Sunday.

The declaration comes as a welcome respite for many residents of Uttar Pradesh, allowing them to participate in the festive celebrations without interruption.
