**New Delhi:** A major political controversy has erupted in the national capital with the PWD sealing the official residence of Delhi Chief Minister Atishi on Wednesday. The AAP alleges that belongings belonging to Atishi were forcibly removed from the CM residence.
Atishi took over as Chief Minister after Arvind Kejriwal resigned from the post recently. She moved into the CM residence after Kejriwal vacated it, leading to a conflict. The BJP accused Kejriwal of not returning the keys to the relevant department, prompting the PWD to take action.
The CM’s office issued a statement claiming the Lieutenant Governor was behind the forced eviction of Atishi from her official residence, calling it an unprecedented event in Indian history. The statement further alleged that the BJP-led government was attempting to allocate the CM residence to a prominent BJP leader after it remained inaccessible for 27 years.
The LG’s office has yet to comment on these allegations.
Reacting to the incident, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva claimed that the “sheesh mahal” (palace) of Arvind Kejriwal has finally been sealed. He alleged that the AAP attempted to re-enter the residence without authorization and without returning the keys. He questioned what secrets were hidden within the residence.
This development further escalates the ongoing political battle between the AAP and the BJP in Delhi, with both parties accusing each other of resorting to undemocratic tactics.
