Fri Oct 11 01:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Ariana Grande Takes a Stand Against “Wicked” Jokes on SNL

Pop star Ariana Grande is set to host “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, but she’s drawing a line in the sand: no “Wicked” or “Wizard of Oz” jokes. In a new promo video, Grande informs the SNL cast of her preference, leaving the cast members, dressed as characters from the 1939 film, dejected.

Grande’s stance comes just weeks before the release of the first “Wicked” movie, in which she plays Glinda alongside fellow SNL cast member Bowen Yang’s Elphaba. Despite her reluctance, it seems inevitable that the film will be brought up during the episode. This marks Grande’s second time hosting the show, following her 2016 debut.

While fans are likely hoping for some “Wicked” references, Grande’s humorous attempt to steer clear of the topic is a reminder that even pop stars can have their limits, especially when it comes to their upcoming blockbuster film. This weekend’s episode of “Saturday Night Live,” featuring musical guest Stevie Nicks, will air on October 12th.
