**Trichy:** An Air India Express flight bound for Sharjah from Trichy was forced to return to its departure point due to a technical fault, prompting an investigation by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The Boeing aircraft, carrying 141 passengers, experienced a hydraulic system malfunction, causing the pilot to request a return to Trichy. The flight, which departed at 5:40 PM, was initially scheduled to land in Sharjah at 8:30 PM. However, it landed safely back at Trichy airport at around 8:10 PM.
While the airline clarified that the crew did not declare an emergency landing, they acknowledged the technical issue and stated that they are investigating the cause of the malfunction. Air India Express assured passengers that they would be accommodated on another flight to their destination.
