**Trichy, Tamil Nadu:** An Air India Express flight bound for Sharjah from Trichy had to make an emergency landing back at the Trichy airport on Tuesday night due to a hydraulic system malfunction.
The Boeing aircraft, carrying 141 passengers, took off around 5:40 PM but soon reported a technical issue. The pilot circled the airport for over two hours, reducing fuel levels to a safe minimum before attempting a landing. The airport was placed on high alert with multiple ambulances on standby.
The aircraft, which was scheduled to reach Sharjah by 8:20 PM, finally landed safely at 8:10 PM. Passengers were safely evacuated and are reported to be unharmed.
