Fri Oct 11 02:25:30 UTC 2024: ## Delhi CM Atishi’s Residence Sealed, Belongings Removed: Allegations of Misuse

In a dramatic turn of events, the Delhi Chief Minister’s residence at 6-Flag Staff Road was sealed by the Public Works Department (PWD) on Wednesday, October 9th. This comes after the former Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, vacated the residence following his resignation.

Atishi, who succeeded Kejriwal as the Chief Minister, was forced to relocate after PWD officials removed her belongings.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi ordered the removal of Atishi’s belongings and the sealing of the residence. The CMO alleges that the LG is attempting to allocate the residence to a BJP leader under pressure from the party.

The CMO statement further claims that the residence has served as the Chief Minister’s official residence for the past 27 years, and the current attempt to seize it is an act of political interference.

The incident has sparked controversy, with the ruling AAP government accusing the BJP of using its influence to pressure the LG into taking action. The BJP, however, has not yet issued a response to these allegations.
