Fri Oct 11 02:08:57 UTC 2024: ## Delhi CM Atishi Evacuated From Official Residence

**New Delhi, October 10, 2024:** In a controversial move, Delhi CM Atishi was forced to vacate her official residence just two days after moving in. Acting on orders from Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor (LG) Vinai Saxena, officials emptied the residence of all its belongings.

The CM’s office condemned the action, stating that “This is the first time in India that a CM has been forcibly evicted from their official residence.” The statement further alleged that the LG acted on the behest of BJP leaders.

Atishi had moved into the official residence located at Flagstaff Road, North Delhi, following the resignation of former CM Arvind Kejriwal. Officials claim that Kejriwal had not officially vacated the residence and that Atishi’s occupancy constituted a violation of regulations.

The incident has sparked outrage among Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters, who view it as a politically motivated attempt to undermine the newly elected CM.

The situation raises questions about the relationship between the elected government and the LG in Delhi, a territory with a unique political structure.
