**Chennai:** Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest film “Jailer 2,” a sequel to the blockbuster “Jailer,” released yesterday to mixed reviews. While the film’s director, T.J. Gnanavel, had earlier stated that the film would focus heavily on the storyline and feature minimal commercial scenes from Rajinikanth, the initial response has been somewhat muted.
While the first half of the film has been praised for its engaging storyline, the second half has been criticized for its slow pace. The film’s opening was also underwhelming compared to expectations, likely due to the lackluster response to the trailer’s release.
