Fri Oct 11 03:08:24 UTC 2024: ## Political Drama Unfolds in Delhi as AAP Ministers Plead for Bus Marshals’ Reinstatement

**New Delhi:** A dramatic scene unfolded at the Delhi Secretariat on Saturday as the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government pushed for the reinstatement of Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) bus marshals. The Cabinet passed a note demanding immediate re-employment of the marshals, leading to a heated confrontation between AAP ministers and BJP legislators.

In a shocking turn of events, Cabinet Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj was seen physically restraining BJP MLA Vijender Gupta, who was allegedly trying to leave the Secretariat to avoid the issue. This led to Delhi’s Chief Minister, Atishi, accompanying Gupta to the Lieutenant Governor’s (LG) house in a bid to pressure him into taking action.

The AAP government, in a series of social media posts, emphasized their commitment to the reinstatement of the marshals. AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal expressed pride in his ministers for their efforts, urging the LG and the BJP to end the political maneuvering and reinstate the marshals without further delay.

Bhardwaj, detailing the events, blamed the LG and the BJP for the impasse. He alleged that despite the Cabinet’s decision, Gupta repeatedly tried to evade the issue. Bhardwaj claimed that they had no option but to physically intervene to prevent his escape.

However, Gupta rejected these claims, accusing the AAP of staging a political drama. He alleged that the AAP was deliberately delaying the reinstatement process, ignoring the aspirations and future of the 10,000 affected bus marshals.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) commenced trial runs of the Rapid Rail line connecting Sahibabad to Delhi’s Ashok Nagar station. This marks a significant step towards the completion of India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The first “Namo Bharat” train arrived at New Ashok Nagar station on Saturday.
