Wed Oct 09 09:51:31 UTC 2024: ## England Set to Face Pakistan in Three-Test Series Starting October 7th

England’s cricket team will embark on a three-Test tour of Pakistan, starting on Monday, October 7th. The series, which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports, is part of the ICC World Test Championship 2023-25.

The first two Tests will be held in Multan, from October 7-11 and October 15-19 respectively. The final Test will take place in Rawalpindi from October 24-28.

England are currently ranked fourth in the World Test Championship standings, while Pakistan sits eighth.

This tour is a rematch of the historic 3-0 whitewash England achieved during their 2022 tour of Pakistan, where leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed took a five-wicket haul on his debut. Rehan is back in the squad alongside fellow spinner Shoaib Bashir and veteran bowler Jack Leach.

England captain Ben Stokes, who led the team to victory over the West Indies earlier this summer, is expected to be fully recovered from a hamstring injury in time for the Pakistan series.

Pakistan, however, is coming off a difficult period, having won only three of their last 17 Tests. Their most recent defeat came against Bangladesh, who won their series 2-0 in August 2024. Despite the recent struggles, Pakistan’s Test captain Shan Masood is confident his team can turn things around.

“It’s not acceptable for Pakistan to not win a home Test for that long and we accept the responsibility for that,” Masood said. “It’s a huge opportunity for us, it’s the chance to turn things around.”

The three-Test series promises to be a thrilling contest between two strong cricketing nations. Fans can catch all the action live on Sky Sports Cricket and Sky Sports Main Event.
