**KOLLAM, KERALA:** Renowned Malayalam actor T.P. Madhavan passed away at a private hospital in Kollam on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. He was 88.
Madhavan, known for his extensive filmography spanning over 600 films, had been admitted to the hospital on Tuesday after his health took a turn for the worse. He was later placed on life support.
He was the first general secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA). In recent years, Madhavan resided at Pathanapuram Gandhibhavan, where he was brought by fellow actors after being found in a precarious state at a lodge in Thiruvananthapuram.
Following a period of recovery, Madhavan participated in some television serials and films. However, he later developed dementia and other health complications.
His body will be kept at Gandhibhavan on Thursday, October 10, 2024, from 9 am to 1 pm. The funeral will be held at Santhi Kavadam, Thiruvananthapuram, at 5 pm.
Madhavan’s passing marks a significant loss for the Malayalam film industry. He will be remembered for his contributions to the industry and his enduring legacy.
