Wed Oct 09 10:31:20 UTC 2024: ## Nolan’s Next Film Set for 2026 Release, Matt Damon in Talks to Star

**LOS ANGELES** – Following the success of his Oscar-winning “Oppenheimer,” director Christopher Nolan has set his sights on his next film, slated for a July 17, 2026, release. The project, currently under wraps, will see Nolan return to Universal, the studio behind his critically acclaimed biopic.

“Oppenheimer” co-star Matt Damon is in talks to lead the cast, marking his third collaboration with the acclaimed director.

While details about the new film are scarce, sources confirm that it is not a big-screen adaptation of the 1960s British series “The Prisoner,” a project Nolan previously considered.

The announcement comes after much speculation surrounding Nolan’s future projects, following his departure from long-time partner Warner Bros. in 2020. Despite the split, Nolan has expressed openness to working with the studio again.

Universal proved to be a successful partner for Nolan, as “Oppenheimer” exceeded box office expectations and garnered critical acclaim, including five Academy Awards.

As with his previous films, Nolan will pen the screenplay and produce the project alongside his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas under their Syncopy banner.

Nolan’s ability to draw audiences and top-tier actors remains unparalleled. His next film is sure to be a highly anticipated event, attracting moviegoers worldwide.
