Wed Oct 09 10:42:53 UTC 2024: ## Nolan and Damon Reunite for New Movie, Scheduled for 2026 Release

**LOS ANGELES -** After the critical and commercial success of “Oppenheimer,” director Christopher Nolan is gearing up for his next feature film, set for a July 17, 2026 release. The Hollywood Reporter confirms that Nolan will once again be collaborating with Universal Studios and actor Matt Damon, who starred in both “Interstellar” (2014) and “Oppenheimer” (2023).

Damon is currently in negotiations to join the cast of the new film, though details about the plot and title remain under wraps.

“Oppenheimer,” a biographical drama about J. Robert Oppenheimer, the “Father of the Atomic Bomb,” was a box office hit and garnered multiple Oscar nominations, including Best Picture and Best Director. Nolan won his first Best Director Oscar for the film, while Cillian Murphy, who portrayed Oppenheimer, took home the award for Best Actor.

The new project marks Nolan’s second film with Universal, following “Oppenheimer,” which broke from his long-standing partnership with Warner Bros. Nolan is known for directing blockbuster films like the “Dark Knight” trilogy, “Dunkirk,” and “Inception.”

The film’s 2026 release date pits it against Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” another summer blockbuster that hit theaters alongside “Oppenheimer” in 2023. While the subject matter of Nolan’s upcoming film is unknown, it is sure to draw anticipation from audiences worldwide.
