**Chandigarh:** In a major upset, Indian wrestling star Vinesh Phogat has won the Julana Assembly seat in the Haryana elections, defeating BJP candidate Yogesh Kumar. Phogat, representing the Congress party, secured victory after a closely contested battle with Kumar.

While the BJP is currently projected to win a clear majority in the state, with the party leading in over 49 seats, the Congress has managed to secure a significant number of seats, currently leading in 35 constituencies.

The exit polls for the Haryana elections had predicted a landslide victory for the BJP, however, the results have proven these predictions to be inaccurate. The Congress has managed to make a strong showing, with Phogat’s victory being a notable highlight.

Throughout the vote counting, the competition between Phogat and Kumar was fierce. At one point, Phogat fell behind, but quickly recovered and surged ahead to secure a decisive victory with a margin of over 6,000 votes.

The Haryana elections have witnessed a significant shift in political power, with the Congress outperforming expectations and the BJP securing a clear majority.
