Tue Oct 08 08:32:30 UTC 2024: ## BJP Wins Haryana, NC Alliance Wins Jammu & Kashmir in State Assembly Elections

**New Delhi:** In a dramatic turn of events, the BJP has secured a third consecutive term in the Haryana Assembly elections, while the National Conference (NC) alliance has triumphed in Jammu & Kashmir. The BJP’s victory in Haryana defied exit polls, which had predicted a close contest, with the Congress initially leading the polls.

The NC alliance secured a commanding lead with 51 seats, while the BJP managed to secure 28 seats. In Haryana, the BJP secured a comfortable majority with 49 seats, while the Congress won 35 seats. Other parties bagged 6 seats.

The victory in Haryana is a significant win for the BJP, especially after the exit polls predicted a different outcome. The BJP’s national president, J.P. Nadda, has called a meeting of the party’s general secretaries to discuss the formation of the government.

In Jammu & Kashmir, the NC alliance’s win is seen as a setback for the BJP. The BJP’s performance in both states has sent shockwaves through the political landscape, with analysts attributing the results to various factors, including local issues and the BJP’s national performance.

One of the highlights of the Haryana election was the victory of wrestler Vinod Phogat, who despite losing his Olympic medal, successfully entered politics. Phogat, the brother of Olympic medalist Geeta Phogat, won the Julana seat for the Congress.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) failed to make a mark in Haryana, which is a cause for concern for the party.

The elections have seen a significant shift in political power dynamics, with the BJP’s victory in Haryana and the NC alliance’s victory in Jammu & Kashmir setting the stage for a new era of political discourse in both states.
