Sun Oct 06 18:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Miami Hurricanes Pull Off Epic Comeback Win Against California

**Coral Gables, FL** – In a game for the ages, the Miami Hurricanes pulled off a stunning 39-38 victory over the California Golden Bears on Saturday, erasing a 25-point deficit in the final quarter to secure the biggest comeback win in FBS play this season.

Trailing by 20 points with 11 minutes remaining, quarterback Cam Ward orchestrated a remarkable turnaround. He threw for 437 yards and accounted for three touchdowns in the final 10:28, including the game-winning throw to Elijah Arroyo with 26 seconds left.

“I didn’t play my best ball,” said Ward, who continues to bolster his Heisman Trophy candidacy with his stellar performance. “Nobody played their best ball. We just can’t keep putting ourselves in these situations.”

The win marks the second consecutive week the Hurricanes have mounted a dramatic comeback. Just last week, they erased a 10-point deficit in the fourth quarter to defeat Virginia Tech.

The Hurricanes’ resilience impressed their head coach, Mario Cristobal. “This team has so much trust,” he said. “Insane resiliency. We’re down 35-10 and nobody blinks. I’ve never seen anything like it.”

The victory catapulted Miami to No. 6 in the AP Top 25, marking only the third time since 2005 that the team has been ranked so high. They now enjoy a bye week before facing Louisville on October 19th.

“This was special,” said receiver Xavier Restrepo, who played a pivotal role in the comeback, “Wouldn’t trade it for the world.”

The Hurricanes will look to build on their momentum as they enter the heart of their conference schedule. “It’s conference play now and conference games are like playoff games,” said running back Mark Fletcher. “Just prepare every week like it’s the national championship and see what happens.”

As for Cristobal, he’ll be putting in the work to ensure the Hurricanes remain on the path to success. “There’s work to do,” he said. “We just came a long way. We still have miles to go.”
