Sun Oct 06 22:50:00 UTC 2024: ## Cooler Temperatures and Chance of Rain Expected This Week

**Olean, NY** – After enjoying unseasonably warm weather, residents of the Olean area are set to experience a drop in temperatures this week, returning to more typical autumn conditions.

According to David Thomas, a meteorologist at the Buffalo office of the National Weather Service, “It’s going to be chilly,” with Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday expected to see highs only in the mid- to upper 50s.

While today is predicted to be overcast but dry, there is a slight chance of scattered rain showers on Tuesday and Wednesday. Despite the showers, sunny periods are also expected both days.

Overnight lows during this period will likely dip into the mid-30s, creating a possibility of frost, especially in valleys.

The cold snap is expected to be short-lived, however, with a large area of high pressure moving in on Thursday. This will bring dry conditions and a rebound in temperatures, with a high near 60 on Thursday and reaching the mid-60s on Friday.

The weekend looks bright and warm, with dry conditions and daytime highs around 70 on both Saturday and Sunday.
