**Lima, Peru:** India’s junior shooting team has clinched the gold medal in the 25-meter rapid fire pistol event at the ongoing World Junior Shooting Championship in Lima, Peru. The trio of Raajwardan Paatil, Mukesh Nelavalli, and Harsimar Singh Rattha combined for a total score of 1722, comfortably outpacing France and Poland for the top spot.

Despite narrowly missing individual medals, Paatil and Nelavalli both qualified for the individual final, ultimately finishing fourth and fifth respectively. The qualification round saw France’s Thomas Chinours, who topped the leaderboard with 584 points, finish in sixth place.

This victory adds another gold to India’s impressive haul at the championship, bringing their total to 11 gold, 1 silver, and 4 bronze medals. India currently sits at the top of the medal table, followed by China with three gold and a silver. The USA and Italy are tied for third place with two gold medals each.
