**Frankfurt, Germany -** FC Bayern Munich will travel to Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday for a crucial Bundesliga match, aiming to keep their lead atop the table. The match kicks off at 5:30 pm CEST and will be available on fcbayern.com and the FC Bayern app.
Following a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen and a 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the Champions League, Bayern are looking to get back on track. Despite the recent setbacks, Bayern’s sporting director, Max Eberl, remains confident in the team’s performance. “The results weren’t what we’d imagined, but the way we’ve played is what we want to build on,” he said.
Coach Vincent Kompany echoes Eberl’s sentiment, emphasizing the importance of focusing on the next game. “We can take a lot from it [the recent matches]. That needs to be the foundation for success in the next game,” he stated.
The match against Frankfurt poses a significant challenge for Bayern. Frankfurt is currently enjoying their best form in years, having won four Bundesliga games in a row. A win against Bayern would see them take the top spot in the table for the first time since 1999.
“The chance to take first place is extra motivation,” said Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller. “It’s special for the club and for us as a team to reignite that delight again.”
Bayern will be without Sven Ulreich (suspended) and Jamal Musiala (hip injury). Frankfurt’s only confirmed absentee is Oscar Hojlund (broken metatarsal). The status of Frankfurt’s captain and goalkeeper, Kevin Trapp, remains uncertain following a thigh injury.
