**Guwahati, Assam:** In a joint operation conducted on Tuesday night, the Border Security Force (BSF) and South Salmara-Mankachar district police apprehended 12 individuals identified as Bangladeshi nationals in the Hatsingimari area of South Salmara, Assam.
The group, aged between 18 and 38, had illegally entered India through the Dawki region of Meghalaya without valid documents. They were attempting to return to Bangladesh after working as laborers in Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, nine of the apprehended individuals were found carrying forged Aadhaar cards. They were identified as residents of various districts in Bangladesh, including Dhaka, Gaibandha, Naogaon, and Mymensingh.
Following proper procedures, the BSF and the local police deported the apprehended individuals back to Bangladesh through the international border.
