Sun Oct 06 07:42:13 UTC 2024: ## Pakistan Hopeful for Series Win Against England Despite Recent Struggles
**Multan, Pakistan:** Former Pakistan cricketer and coach Mudassar Nazar is confident that Pakistan can overcome their recent poor performances at home and secure a series win against England in the upcoming Test series starting October 7th.
Nazar acknowledged Pakistan’s recent struggles but highlighted the absence of England’s pace bowler Mark Wood as a potential advantage for the home team. Wood, known for his blistering pace and variety, is out with injury.
“There’s no doubt that Pakistan’s recent performances haven’t been that great, especially at home,” Nazar said. “But I’m hopeful that our team will perform well against England this time. Their main threat was going to be Mark Wood, but unfortunately, he will miss this series, so Pakistan stands a good chance if we can score runs.”
Nazar also believes Pakistan’s spin attack, particularly with the inclusion of spinner Noman Ali, could be a decisive factor in the series. However, he warned against underestimating England’s batting strength, especially opener Ben Duckett, who poses a serious threat with his aggressive approach.
“Maybe Pakistan can beat them with spin, especially with Noman selected,” Nazar added. “But a major threat for us could be Ben Duckett because he plays very fast and can dominate.”
While hopeful, Nazar expressed concern about Pakistan’s recent struggles with reverse swing, a weakness that could prove costly against a strong England batting lineup.
The first Test of the series is scheduled for October 7th in Multan. Pakistan will be aiming to bounce back from a disappointing 2-0 whitewash against Bangladesh and secure a series victory against England.
