Sun Oct 06 02:08:47 UTC 2024: ## Matt Hardy’s “Broken” Gimmick Inspired by Theatricality, Mark Henry Backs Rhea Ripley for Women’s World Title

**Atlanta, GA** – WWE Hall of Famer Matt Hardy recently revealed the inspiration behind his iconic “Broken” gimmick, citing the evolution of wrestling and his own physical limitations. During an episode of the “Busted Open Radio” podcast, Hardy explained he sought a way to remain relevant in the industry by incorporating theatrical elements, drawing inspiration from iconic characters like Papa Shango and the early Undertaker. “I said, ‘What if I try to be more theatrical and more performative?'” Hardy stated. “Either people will buy in that I am this supernatural character because something has happened, my brain has opened up, or they’ll think I’m crazy. Either way, I’ll make it work.”

Meanwhile, fellow Hall of Famer Mark Henry expressed his support for Rhea Ripley in her upcoming Women’s World Title match against Liv Morgan at WWE Bad Blood 2024. Henry believes Ripley’s victory will fuel the ongoing storyline between Morgan, Dom, and Ripley, adding, “If she wins, I’m gonna be happy because that means that the story is not over and Dom and Liv are going to keep on trying to do her dirty and we get more of that saga.”

The highly anticipated title match will take place this Saturday, October 5th, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
