BEMIDJI, MN – Laporte School is getting ready for a week packed with festivities as they celebrate homecoming from October 7th to 11th. The event promises a variety of activities, including a pep fest, parades, sports games, and a carnival.
**Week-Long Celebrations**
The week kicks off with a pep fest on Monday, October 7th, where the Homecoming Court will be crowned. A tailgate party, hosted by TruStar Federal Credit Union, precedes the varsity volleyball game against the Cass Lake Panthers. Fans are encouraged to wear pink for a “pink-out” theme.
Wednesday’s highlight includes a walk to school day, where students will be escorted by teachers, first responders, and members of the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Department.
Thursday’s volleyball game sees the Wildcats take on the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder.
Friday is a day for school spirit with the Wildcats wearing their spirit wear for the football game against the Lake of the Woods Bears. A short homecoming parade featuring the school’s fall extracurricular activities and the Homecoming Court will take place at 10:30 a.m.
The day culminates with the homecoming dance, starting at 8 p.m. for students in grades 6-12.
**Saturday’s Carnival Fun**
The festivities culminate on Saturday, October 12th, with a Wildcats Carnival. From 4 to 8 p.m., attendees can enjoy over 35 games, a bounce house, a pumpkin sale, and a hot dog dinner. The carnival serves as a fundraiser for fall sports programs.
