Sun Oct 06 07:13:55 UTC 2024: ## Rountree Brushes Off Strickland’s Beef Ahead of UFC 307 Title Fight
**SALT LAKE CITY** – Ahead of his light heavyweight title fight against Alex Pereira at UFC 307, Khalil Rountree has dismissed any lingering animosity with fellow UFC fighter Sean Strickland. The two fighters have been at odds since 2022, when Strickland criticized Rountree for crying during a post-fight scrum.
Rountree initially downplayed Strickland’s comments, claiming he didn’t know who he was. However, Strickland continued his criticism, recently calling Rountree a “liberal c*ck beta male” and accusing him of being in a cult.
Despite the vitriol, Rountree revealed that Strickland approached him a few months ago at the UFC Performance Institute to apologize, stating he actually liked Rountree and respected him. Rountree accepted the apology and considered the matter resolved.
“I know that there’s really no issue. It’s really just talk, and I won’t concern myself with it,” said Rountree.
Strickland is expected to get a rematch against UFC middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis, who defeated him by split decision in January.
Rountree will focus on his title fight against Pereira, aiming to secure the light heavyweight championship at UFC 307 on Saturday.
