**Chennai:** Get ready for a spectacular aerial display as the Indian Air Force (IAF) gears up for its 92nd Air Force Day celebration with a grand air show at Marina Beach on Sunday, October 6th. The event, marking the first Air Force Day celebration in a southern state, will feature over 20 different types of aircraft including the mighty Dassault Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Suryakiran, and the indigenous HAL Tejas.

The IAF is expecting a massive crowd of nearly 1.5 million attendees and has urged people to refrain from bringing food to avoid attracting birds. The aircraft will take off from air force stations in Tambaram, Thanjavur, Sulur, and Bengaluru and converge over the East Coast Road before heading towards Marina Beach.

The air show will be a visual treat with skilled pilots showcasing their expertise in navigating modern aircraft and choppers. The rehearsals on Friday had already created a buzz in the city as residents flocked to witness the thunderous roar of the jet engines.

To ensure a safe and smooth event, the Chennai City Police will deploy 6,500 police officers and 1,500 home guards. Several traffic diversions will be in place on Sunday.
