**Gwalior, India:** Ahead of the first T20I against New Zealand, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav hinted at a potential future in IPL captaincy. When quizzed about the possibility, the 34-year-old said, “You have bowled a googly. Let’s see what happens in the future. You guys will get to know about it (laughs).”
This will be Surya’s fourth series as captain, and he has clearly enjoyed the role so far. “Really enjoying this new role,” he stated, adding, “I have learned from other captains on how to take the team forward.”
Surya also confirmed that speedster Mayank Yadav will make his debut in the series, dismissing any concerns about his fitness. “Mayank has an X-factor in him. He is fully fit and fine right now,” he said, highlighting the exciting talent of the young pacer.
Furthermore, the captain revealed that Sanju Samson will open the innings alongside Abhishek Sharma in all three matches.
