Sun Oct 06 18:13:05 UTC 2024: ## Bumrah set to break IPL salary records: Harbhajan Singh

**New Delhi:** Following a stellar performance in India’s recent 2-0 Test series victory over Bangladesh, where he claimed 6 wickets in the Kanpur Test, star Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah is predicted to break IPL salary records in the upcoming 2025 auction.

Former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that Bumrah’s impressive form will lead to a bidding war between all 10 IPL teams, potentially pushing his salary to over 30-35 crores per year. He also suggested that Bumrah could be offered captaincy roles by interested franchises.

“If Bumrah participates in the IPL auction, we will have the highest-paid player in IPL history, wouldn’t you agree?” Singh tweeted. He further added, “All 10 IPL teams will be bidding/Fighting for him, and captaincy too. I believe Bumrah will get more than 30/35 Cr per year easily.”

Bumrah, who currently plays for Mumbai Indians, is expected to be retained by the franchise, however, his potential price tag might escalate further based on his recent performances.

The 29-year-old has a remarkable record in the IPL, having played 133 matches and taken 165 wickets, including a best bowling figure of 5 wickets for 10 runs. In IPL 2024, he claimed 20 wickets, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
