**Chennai, India** – Get ready for a spectacular aerial display as the Indian Air Force (IAF) celebrates its 92nd anniversary with a massive air show over the Marina beach in Chennai on October 6th.
The show, which is open to the public, will feature an impressive lineup of aircraft, including the state-of-the-art Rafale fighter jets, the Suryakiran aerobatic team, and the Sarang helicopter aerobatic team.
The IAF hopes to set a new record for the largest air show ever held in India, with an estimated 1.5 million spectators expected to attend the event, which will take place between 11 am and 1 pm.
The display will showcase the full capabilities of the IAF, including its indigenous Light Combat Aircraft Tejas and Light Combat Helicopter Prachand, as well as historic aircraft like the Dakota and Harvard.
This will be the first time in 21 years that the IAF has held such a large-scale air show outside of the national capital, and the third time ever.
The last similar air show was held over the Sangam area in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh in October 2023, and in Chandigarh the year before.
