**Chennai, October 5:** Chennai is set to witness a spectacular Air Force Day air show on Sunday, with over 15 lakh people expected to gather at Marina Beach for the event. The air show, the third outside New Delhi and the first in South India, will feature over 20 different types of aircraft, including the Dassault Rafale, Sukhoi-30, Suryakiran, and the indigenously developed HAL Tejas.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) has deployed a massive security force, with 6,500 police officers and 1,500 Home Guards to ensure the safety of attendees. The IAF has also expressed concern over bird strikes and has requested attendees to refrain from bringing food and drink to the event.

To facilitate smooth traffic flow, the Greater Chennai Police has issued traffic diversions for Sunday. Vehicles without passes will be restricted from Kamarajar Salai between Gandhi Statue and the war memorial. Alternate routes have been designated for motorists, with parking details available on the Greater Chennai Traffic Police’s social media handles.

The air show, part of the 92nd Air Force Day celebrations, will see participating teams converge above the East Coast Road before flying to Marina Beach. The entire air show will be controlled by the Air Traffic Controller at Chennai Airport.
