Veteran actress Shilpa Shirodkar has joined the star-studded cast of Bigg Boss 18, hoping to use the platform to jumpstart her career and reconnect with the industry. The actress, who is the sister of Namrata Shirodkar and sister-in-law of Mahesh Babu, candidly admitted to struggling to find work despite her extensive experience.
“I was looking for work, but nobody kept telling me there was no work,” she shared during her introduction on the show. “I am taking this up because I am an actor by profession, it’s my job, so what better platform than this for me?”
While Shilpa acknowledged that some may perceive her appearance on Bigg Boss as a career move, she emphasized that she views it as work. “My goal to do this is to get more work afterward,” she explained, adding that she’s seeking genuine opportunities and not simply seeking publicity.
During her time in the Bigg Boss house, Shilpa intends to share her wealth of experiences from her long career in Bollywood. She worked alongside legendary actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, and Govinda, and she believes she has stories to tell about the industry’s evolution.
“Every day for us was a learning,” Shilpa reminisced. “We made relationships, we were so close to each other… I grew up with the veterans of the industry, and they were there to teach me, nurture me, and guide me with right and wrong.”
She shared fond memories of her time working with Bachchan, whom she credits for teaching her the importance of punctuality and dedication. She also admires Anil Kapoor’s unwavering commitment to his craft.
