**TAWANG:** The football turf at the Outdoor Stadium in Jang, Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, has received a major boost with its certification under the “FIFA Quality Programme for Football Turf – FIFA Quality” standard. This achievement signifies the region’s commitment to developing football infrastructure and encouraging young talent.
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu expressed his delight on X, stating that the certification reflects the state’s dedication to promoting football. He believes that the improved infrastructure will play a vital role in nurturing young footballers and fostering a thriving sports culture in the region.
In further sporting news, CM Khandu announced that the second edition of the Tawang Marathon will be held on October 24, 2024. He invited adventure enthusiasts to participate in this challenging event, offering a unique experience of running at 10,000 feet above sea level, considered one of India’s toughest mountain races.
