**ALGIERS, Oct. 5 (Xinhua)** – The 16th edition of the Algiers International Comics Festival concluded on Saturday, showcasing the rich tapestry of Algerian storytelling through art. The five-day event, held under the theme “Algerian Stories,” attracted artists and authors from 15 countries including Japan, France, Italy, the United States, Egypt, and Tunisia.
The festival paid homage to pioneering artists who utilized their work to raise awareness during the Algerian War of Independence (1954-1962). Attendees enjoyed exhibitions, panel discussions on the comic book industry, cosplay contests, and engaging conversations with comic enthusiasts.
Festival artistic director Jaoudet Guessoum highlighted the international participation, emphasizing the event’s role in fostering cultural exchange and promoting Algerian storytelling on a global stage.
