Sat Oct 05 04:05:09 UTC 2024: ## Local Actors Lawrence Wong and Yeo Yann Yann Share Their Experience Filming “Homebound”

Local actors Lawrence Wong and Yeo Yann Yann have teamed up for the upcoming animal welfare film “Homebound,” which features short stories centered around rescue dogs. Wong, making his directorial debut, has helmed a short titled “Esky,” starring Yann Yann.

While the actors enjoyed the experience, they revealed that working together on the film wasn’t all smooth sailing. They faced heated discussions during filming, particularly about one emotionally charged scene.

“We had quite a different take on it and how the emotions should be portrayed,” explained Yann Yann. Wong added, “The funny thing was, while I was explaining the scene to her, the more I talked about it… I started tearing up uncontrollably and everybody was passing me tissues.”

Despite the disagreements, both actors found the experience enriching. Wong expressed his admiration for Yann Yann’s acting prowess and was grateful to work with a close friend. Yann Yann, in jest, noted her friend’s tendency to cast her without considering the compensation.

The film, “Homebound,” aims to raise awareness about adopting pets and features other compelling short stories directed by notable filmmakers like Rui En, Tejas Ewing, Jason Lee, and Jeremy Kieren Ng and Zhang Minhua.

A charity screening of the film will be held at Conrad Centennial Hotel on Oct 30, 7pm. Patrons who donate $50 to SOSD at [link] will receive one ticket.
