**Lubbock, TX** – The Texas Tech Red Raiders are in hot pursuit of in-state four-star cornerback Jamarion Vincent, a member of the highly sought-after 2026 recruiting class. Vincent, from Waco Connally High School, recently narrowed his list of potential programs to eight, including Baylor, Houston, Kansas State, Nebraska, Purdue, TCU, Texas, and Texas Tech.
The 6-2, 165-pound Vincent is a versatile athlete who excels on both sides of the ball. As a sophomore, he threw for 856 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 841 yards and 11 touchdowns. On defense, he recorded 20 tackles and three interceptions. He has continued to impress in his junior season, amassing over 570 yards and nine touchdowns (six on the ground).
Vincent is a highly-rated recruit, ranked as the No. 316 overall prospect nationally, the No. 39 player in Texas, and the No. 24 cornerback in the nation. However, the Red Raiders face stiff competition for his services, particularly from the University of Texas. Vincent visited Austin for Texas’ victory over Colorado State earlier this season and was impressed by the Longhorns’ interest.
“It really felt good to know that, dang, Texas really likes me,” Vincent told InsideTexas over the summer. “That offer felt right. It was a lot of emotions. Like, I couldn’t believe I got that offer.”
The Red Raiders currently have one commit for the 2026 class in three-star linebacker Tieson Ejiawoko from East View High School in Georgetown, Texas. The team hopes to add Vincent to their roster as they continue to build a strong foundation for the future.
