**Washim, Maharashtra:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi today released the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, providing financial assistance to over 9.4 crore farmers across India. The scheme, which provides ₹6,000 annually to eligible farmers in three equal installments, saw a total of ₹20,000 crore disbursed today.

This marks a significant increase in beneficiaries since the last installment on June 18, 2024, with nearly 25 lakh new farmers joining the scheme. The PM-KISAN scheme, aimed at supporting small and marginal farmers with landholdings up to 2 hectares, is considered the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme.

The 17th installment, released by PM Modi in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on June 18, benefited 9.26 crore farmers.

**eKYC Mandatory for Beneficiaries:**

It is crucial for beneficiaries to complete their eKYC to ensure continued receipt of installments. eKYC can be completed online through the Aadhaar-linked mobile number or at a nearby Common Service Centre (CSC). The process helps in verifying beneficiary identity and preventing fraud.
