**New Delhi, October 5, 2024:** Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 18th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme today, October 5th, 2024, from Washim, Maharashtra. This installment will benefit over 9.4 crore farmers, with each receiving ₹2,000, totaling ₹20,000 crore in disbursements.
This marks a significant increase from the previous installment released on June 18th, 2024, which benefited 9.25 crore farmers. This means approximately 25 lakh new farmers have been included in the scheme’s beneficiary list.
The PM-KISAN scheme, launched in 2019, aims to provide financial support to small and marginal farmers across India owning up to 2 hectares of land. Beneficiaries receive ₹6,000 annually, paid in three equal installments of ₹2,000. The scheme is considered the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme.
Farmers can check their eligibility and beneficiary status through the official PM-KISAN website or mobile app. It is mandatory to complete the eKYC process to continue receiving benefits. Farmers can complete the eKYC process online using their Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
