**New Delhi, India** – Kia India has officially launched its much-anticipated EV9 electric SUV and the redesigned Carnival Limousine, marking a significant step in its “2.0 transformation strategy” focused on advanced technology, innovative design, and sustainability.

**EV9: A Powerful Contender in the Electric SUV Market**

The EV9 is set to make waves in the Indian electric vehicle market with its impressive 99.8kWh battery providing a range of up to 561 kilometers on a single charge. The EV9 boasts rapid charging capabilities, achieving a 10% to 80% charge in just 24 minutes using a 350kW DC charger, making it suitable for both city driving and long journeys. Under the hood, the EV9 packs a powerful 380PS and 700 Nm of torque, making it a force to be reckoned with.

The EV9 utilizes Kia’s Connect 2.0 platform for seamless connectivity, allowing users to remotely control the vehicle and access over-the-air software updates. It also features Digital Key 2.0, enabling smartphone-based unlocking and ignition, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for powering external devices.

The EV9’s exterior design embodies Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, featuring a digital pattern lighting grille and a futuristic, angular structure. The interior boasts a panoramic Trinity display with a 12.3-inch HD screen, a five-inch HVAC display, and a 12.3-inch touchscreen for navigation. While the overall cabin is impressive, some critics have noted a somewhat plastic feel and suggest that better materials could have been used.

Safety is paramount in the EV9, boasting 27 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) features, including multi-collision brakes, vehicle stability management, and a 10-airbag system. Priced at ₹1.30 crore, the EV9 sits just ₹10 lakh below the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV, despite offering a slightly lower level of luxury and comfort.

**Carnival Limousine: A Bold and Luxurious Reimagining**

The Kia Carnival Limousine makes its return with a more assertive design, emphasizing luxury and advanced technology. The exterior features a prominent black and chrome tiger-nose grille, Starmap LED DRLs, and R18 diamond-cut alloy wheels. A wide dual electric sunroof adds to its stylish appeal. Compared to its predecessor, which was a minivan, the new Carnival boasts sharper lines and a more SUV-like aesthetic.

Stepping inside the Carnival Limousine reveals a luxurious cabin finished in a two-tone design. The interior boasts fine materials, excellent fit and finish, and a wealth of comfort features. Second-row passengers enjoy powered relaxation seats with ventilation, heating, and leg support, while a 12-speaker BOSE Premium Sound System provides immersive audio throughout the vehicle. Front-row occupants benefit from premium features including 12-way power driver’s seats, memory functions, and ventilated and heated seating.

Powering the Carnival Limousine is a 2.2-liter diesel engine producing 193 hp and 441 Nm of torque. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission, expected to achieve an average mileage of 14 kmpl.

The Carnival Limousine prioritizes safety with 23 ADAS Level 2 features, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Smart Cruise Control. It also includes eight airbags and a 360-degree camera for comprehensive passenger protection.

The new Carnival’s starting price of ₹63.90 lakh represents a significant increase compared to its predecessor, which debuted at a range of ₹27-32 lakh. While the price jump is substantial, it remains ₹10 lakh cheaper than its closest competitor, the Toyota Alphard (Vellfire in some markets).
