**New Delhi, October 5, 2024:** The third day of Shardiya Navratri, celebrated across India, is dedicated to the worship of Goddess Chandraghanta, the third manifestation of Goddess Durga.
Chandraghanta, depicted with ten arms holding various weapons like a kamandal, lotus, mace, trident, arrow, bow, sword, and a scimitar, is adorned with a jeweled crown and a garland of white flowers. The goddess is believed to be the married form of Parvati, who after marrying Lord Shiva, started adorning her forehead with a half-moon, giving her the name Chandraghanta.
Devotees believe that worshipping Chandraghanta brings happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. Special pujas and aarti are conducted in her honor on this day.
