**LAS VEGAS** – Tiffany Hayes, guard for the Las Vegas Aces, was named the 2023 WNBA Sixth Player of the Year, the league announced on Friday. Hayes, in her first season with the Aces, earned 38 out of 67 votes from a national media panel.
This marks the fifth time in the last six seasons that a Las Vegas player has won the award. Hayes played in 33 of the Aces’ 40 regular season games, coming off the bench a career-high 28 times and starting five games.
The 12-year veteran averaged 9.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.1 assists this season, while shooting 40% from three-point range. She rejoined the WNBA after announcing her retirement just six months prior, joining the Aces a few weeks into the season.
Hayes was presented with the award on the court before the Aces’ Game 3 semifinal matchup against the New York Liberty.
