Fri Oct 04 16:50:55 UTC 2024: ## Knights Spinners Dominate as Boland Crumble for 141

**Paarl, South Africa** – The Knights bowlers, led by spinners Dane Piedt and Aaron Phangiso, stifled a Goldrush Boland batting lineup that was initially fueled by Grant Roelofsen’s sixth CSA T20 Challenge half-century. Despite Roelofsen’s 52 runs, Boland were bowled out for a paltry 141 runs at Boland Park on Friday evening.

Roelofsen’s innings, which included eight boundaries, was punctuated by several wide long hops from the Knights’ seamers, giving him an early advantage. However, Clayton Bosch disrupted Boland’s momentum, dismissing Pieter Malan and Gavin Kaplan early on.

A 49-run stand for the third wicket between Roelofsen and captain Clyde Fortuin (24) provided some hope for the hosts. But once Roelofsen reached his fifty, Boland’s innings disintegrated. Piedt claimed the key wickets of Roelofsen and Michael Copeland in the same over, turning the tide in the Knights’ favor.

Malusi Siboto (2-23) further tightened the screws, using his experience to take pace off the ball and remove Ferisco Adams and Shaun von Berg. Dian Forrester then completed a remarkable collapse, claiming a hat-trick in the final over to end Boland’s innings.

The Knights’ spin duo of Piedt (2-18) and Phangiso (1-20) were the architects of Boland’s demise, effectively exploiting the poor shot selection by the hosts. The victory sets the stage for an exciting clash as the Knights look to continue their momentum in the CSA T20 Challenge.
