**Lima, Peru:** Indian shooter Khushi secured a hard-fought bronze medal in the women’s 50m rifle 3 positions at the ISSF Junior World Championship in Lima, Peru. Her victory on Wednesday added to India’s impressive medal haul, bringing the country’s total to 15, including 10 gold, one silver, and four bronze.

Khushi’s journey to the podium was filled with drama. She narrowly qualified for the final round, placing seventh with a score of 585. She then battled through the eight-woman final, overcoming a shaky start to claim the third spot with a final score of 447.3.

The gold medal went to Norway’s Synnoeve Berg (458.4) and the silver to her teammate Caroline Lund (458.3).

Khushi’s bronze was the result of a strong finish in the Standing position, allowing her to overtake Norwegian Pernille Nor-Woll. Despite a couple of wobbly shots, Khushi recovered with impressive scores of 10.7 and 10.4 to secure her place on the podium.

In the junior women’s 3P team competition, the trio of Sakshi Padekar, Melvina Joel Gladson, and Prachi Gaekwad finished fifth with a total of 1757. Anoushka Thakur, who also qualified for the final, missed out on a medal after placing 11th.

India’s strong performance at the ISSF Junior World Championship has cemented their position at the top of the standings.
