Sat Oct 05 07:33:08 UTC 2024: ## Kejriwal Promises Free Electricity, Cash for Women in Haryana

**Gurugram, Haryana:** Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday unveiled five key guarantees to voters in poll-bound Haryana, promising free 24×7 electricity and a monthly allowance of ₹1,000 for women above 18 years of age.

Addressing rallies in Gurugram and Rewari, Mr. Kejriwal, the former Delhi Chief Minister, asserted that no government can be formed in Haryana without AAP’s support and pledged to implement all five guarantees if his party comes to power.

He targeted the BJP, claiming that while AAP-ruled Delhi and Punjab enjoy free electricity, BJP-ruled states grapple with high power costs. Mr. Kejriwal reiterated that his guarantees are “real” unlike those offered by other political parties.

The five guarantees include:

* **Free 24×7 electricity supply:** This includes waiving outstanding bills.
* **Excellent hospitals and mohalla clinics:** To improve healthcare access.
* **Establishment of excellent schools:** To enhance education quality.
* **Monthly allowance of ₹1,000 for every woman above 18 years:** To empower women and boost the economy.
* **Creation of employment opportunities:** To address unemployment concerns.

Mr. Kejriwal highlighted his track record in Delhi, claiming to have provided jobs to 12 lakh youth. He further mentioned the creation of 45,000 government jobs and 3.5 lakh private jobs in Punjab.

The AAP, contesting the Haryana Assembly elections alone, expressed confidence in its prospects, with Mr. Kejriwal claiming the party will win many seats. He accused the BJP-led central government of attempting to “break” him during his time in jail, alleging that he was targeted due to his political success in Delhi and Punjab.

Mr. Kejriwal also alleged that the central government is trying to stifle his welfare schemes, adding that Prime Minister Narendra Modi fears the AAP’s potential success in Haryana.

He appealed to the people of Haryana, highlighting his own roots in the state, to give him a chance to serve. He stated that his time in jail only strengthened his resolve, drawing a parallel with the resilience of Haryana’s people.

Haryana will go to the polls on October 5, with results to be announced on October 8.
