**AUBURN, AL** – Auburn University gymnast Suni Lee has been named one of Glamour Magazine’s Women of the Year for 2024, adding another accolade to her already impressive resume. Lee, who won three Olympic medals before joining Auburn, doubled her medal count at the 2024 Paris Games, helping Team USA secure gold in the team final and claiming bronze medals in the all-around and uneven bars.
The 21-year-old athlete is making a name for herself beyond the gym, however. Lee has expressed a desire to explore the worlds of fashion and social media, moving to New York City to pursue these interests. In an interview with Glamour, she spoke candidly about her mental and physical health struggles, which have been amplified by her Olympic experience. “I’m at such a better place in my life, not even just physically but mentally,” she stated.
While a third Olympic appearance in 2028 remains a possibility, Lee emphasized her current focus on personal growth and enjoying the journey. “I don’t need any more adversity. I just want to go into the gym and work hard,” she shared.
Lee joins other notable women honored by Glamour this year, showcasing a diverse group of individuals making significant contributions across various fields. Her inclusion highlights her achievements not only in gymnastics but also her commitment to mental health awareness and personal exploration.
