Fri Oct 04 20:57:00 UTC 2024: ## Cork City Held to Draw by Treaty United in Rain-Soaked Encounter

**Cork, Ireland** – Cork City’s unbeaten home record remained intact, but they were unable to secure a first win of the season against Treaty United in a rain-soaked First Division encounter at Turner’s Cross. The two Munster rivals played out a fourth consecutive draw, with the Shannonsiders staying eighth despite their struggles against Cork.

Treaty United struck first when Lee J Lynch, making his return from injury, fired a powerful shot from outside the box past Cork goalkeeper Brad Wade in the early stages. Lynch, however, left the pitch soon after due to a recurrence of his injury.

Cork City fought back, with Seani Maguire leading the charge. However, they struggled to break down a stubborn Treaty defense, with goalkeeper Corey Chambers making a series of impressive saves.

The second half saw more chances for both sides. Maguire had a header go wide, and Dijksteel’s shot was saved by Chambers’ legs. Cork City manager Tim Clancy made a triple substitution in midfield, and the pressure continued to mount on Treaty.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 77th minute. Evan McLaughlin’s corner kick was met by a thunderous volley from Cian Coleman, finding the top corner to level the score.

Both sides had late chances to win the game, but it ended in a frustrating draw for Cork City, who remain in search of their first victory of the season.

**Next up for Cork City is a home game against Galway United, while Treaty United will travel to Longford Town.**
