**Paarl, South Africa:** In a nail-biting finish to a thrilling CSA T20 Challenge encounter at Boland Park, Goldrush Boland emerged victorious against the Knights in a tense Super-Over.
The match was tied at 141 runs each after both teams completed their innings. Keith Dudgeon, Boland’s hero, restricted the Knights to just one run in the Super-Over, taking two wickets. In response, Boland needed only two runs to win, and despite losing their first wicket, Clyde Fortuin smashed the winning runs.
The Knights, who had been favorites to win, found themselves in a precarious position needing seven runs off the final six balls with two set batsmen at the crease. However, Dudgeon bowled Botha for 37 and defended the remaining runs to force the Super-Over.
Earlier, the Knights had looked to be in control after a 71-run partnership between Dian Forrester and Patrick Botha, who hit several boundaries and benefited from some poor fielding by the home team. However, Dudgeon’s late bowling heroics turned the tide.
Boland, who had posted a below-par total of 141, had to thank Grant Roelofsen (38 runs) and Clyde Fortuin (24 runs) for their crucial contributions.
The Knights, who have now lost their first two matches, will need to regroup before their next game against the Dafabet Warriors in Gqeberha. Boland, on the other hand, will be confident going into their next game against the Auto Investments North West Dragons in a bid to continue their winning streak.
