
Sat Oct 05 13:32:17 UTC 2024: ## Haryana Assembly Elections: Voting Ends, 61% Turnout Recorded
Haryana witnessed the conclusion of voting for its 90 assembly seats today at 6 PM. According to the Election Commission data released till 5 PM, the voter turnout stood at 61%. The final figures are expected to be released later. This turnout is slightly lower than the 2019 assembly elections which saw a 68.20% voter participation.
Yamunanagar recorded the highest voter turnout at 67.93%, followed by Palwal at 67.69% and Fatehabad at 67.05%. Gurugram saw the lowest turnout at 49.97%. The results for the elections will be declared on October 8th.
**Violence mars voting in Nuh**
The peaceful voting process was marred by incidents of violence in Nuh district. Stone pelting incidents were reported from three locations, involving supporters of Congress, INLD-BSP, and independent candidates. Two people were injured in the clashes. Heavy police deployment has been made in the affected areas, namely Chandiani, Khwaja Kalan, and Gulalta. DSP Surender visited the affected villages to assess the situation.
**Allegations of booth capturing denied**
Congress candidate Vinay Phogat from Julana, Jind district, denied allegations of booth capturing made by BJP candidate Captain Yogesh Bairagi. Phogat said the polling was conducted fairly and he had not received any complaints about booth capturing during his visits to various villages. Bairagi had earlier alleged booth capturing by Congress and visited a polling booth where he was involved in a scuffle.
