**New Delhi:** The Indian government is set to release the 18th installment of the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme on Saturday, October 5th, 2024. Over 9.5 crore farmers across the country will receive Rs. 2,000 each, with the total disbursement amounting to Rs. 20,000 crore.
This installment follows the 17th installment released on June 18th, 2024, which benefitted over 9.26 crore farmers. The significant increase in beneficiaries, approximately 24 lakh, highlights the scheme’s expanding reach.
To be eligible for the scheme, farmers must complete their e-KYC verification. This can be done through the official PM Kisan website using an OTP-based process or through biometric verification at the nearest CSC center.
Launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the PM-Kisan scheme, initially announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by then Finance Minister Piyush Goyal, has become the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme.
