Sat Oct 05 07:33:24 UTC 2024: ## Over ₹3900 Crore To Be Deposited in Bank Accounts of Maharashtra Farmers on October 5th
**Mumbai, October 3, 2024:** In a bid to appease voters ahead of the state assembly elections, the Maha Vikas Aghadi government in Maharashtra is set to deposit over ₹3900 crore into the accounts of farmers on October 5th. This includes the 18th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana and the 5th installment of the Namo Shetkari Mahasammelan Nidhi Yojana.
The funds will be disbursed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself during a ceremony in Washim at 11:00 AM on Saturday. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Ministers Devendra Fadnavis and Ajit Pawar, and Minister of Agriculture Dhananjay Munde are expected to attend the event.
The PM Kisan scheme will benefit 91.52 lakh farmer families with a direct transfer of over ₹1900 crore, while the state’s own Namo Shetkari scheme will see a deposit of over ₹2000 crore.
Each eligible farmer family will receive a total of ₹4000 – ₹2000 from PM Kisan and ₹2000 from the state scheme – directly into their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.
This initiative is being seen as a pre-election strategy by the government to garner support from the agricultural community, which constitutes a significant voter base in the state.
