Hyderabad, October 5, 2024: The Telugu film industry is mourning the loss of Gayathri, daughter of veteran actor Rajendra Prasad. Gayathri, 38, passed away on Friday after suffering a heart attack.
According to reports, Gayathri was rushed to a hospital in Hyderabad after experiencing chest pain. Despite the best efforts of the medical team, she could not be saved.
A video circulating on social media shows Rajendra Prasad sitting beside his daughter’s body. It is reported that Gayathri initially complained of gastric problems and was subsequently admitted to AIG Hospitals in Hyderabad.
Rajendra Prasad was reportedly on a film set when he received the news of his daughter’s passing. Gayathri is survived by her daughter, Sai Tejaswini, who is a child artist. The family is deeply saddened by her untimely demise.
The funeral is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad on Friday.
Several members of the Telugu film fraternity have expressed their condolences to the bereaved family. Junior NTR, a prominent actor, took to social media to express his grief, stating, “I was very fond of Gayathri. The news of her passing is deeply saddening for me. I pray for her soul to rest in peace. My deepest condolences to Rajendra Prasad and his family.”
